Scott Weiland Goes to Prison
April 29th, 2008 Posted in Celebrities, Epic Fail
An L.A. judge has ruled that Scott Weiland of the Stone Temple Pilots, and formerly Velvet Revolver, will have to spend eight days in prison following his December 2007 arrest and subsequent DUI charge. Weiland will have to serve the time before May 26. Ultimate-Guitar says:
Scott Weiland will spend the equivalent of eight days behind bars for driving under the influence of alcohol. The DUI sentence was handed down by a Los Angeles Judge, and it requires him to serve the time before May 26. The singer already has commitments booked with Stone Temple Pilots and may have to break up the 190 plus hours of time in the can.
Man, it must be nice to kick-off your band’s reunion by going to prison. There’s no word yet on what the other gents in STP think of the situation, but I imagine they are ecstatic. What better way is there to show that your back is back, strong, and united by having the lead singer spend a week in prison? It’s not like anything bad is going to happen to him in there. As long as he brings his special soap all he has to watch out for is getting shanked, and from what I’ve seen on the highly-produced prison documentaries on television getting shanked if often very exciting, and is accompanied by a kick-ass soundtrack.
