Times Are Changing

You can tell times are changing in the South when something like this makes headlines. After a few drinks, a man smacked his mother in the head with a sausage and how is being charged with battery. He had been held on $500 bond.
Gregory Allen Praeger, 46, was in the kitchen cooking and talking on the phone when officers arrived Saturday night. His mother told police he had been drinking and arguing with her, then picked up the package of sausage and hurled it, grazing her head. She was not badly hurt and did not have to go to the hospital.
What’s the big deal here people? After a few drinks, a man decided to swing his three pound package of sausage around and its destination just happened to be somewhere in or around the face and/or head area of his mother. The real shame in Gregory’s story is the fact that he had to be held on a $500 bond. Isn’t saving money one of the advantages of using your mother? I am sure if he felt like paying that kind of money in order to swing his Oscar Meyer around, he certainly wouldn’t have settled on his mother.
